Similarly the electric box forms an integrated part of the overall in-house wiring. Get the substitutes ready for the electric boxes which are aging fast and are becoming increasingly inefficient. The electric boxes act as the end or transition points for the internal wiring which means that a fault here hampers the working of other devices as well.
While going through the motion, get the apprehension of a skilled electrician to work on the internal wiring as well. The task may be carried out along with the overall redressing of the house whenever it happens. Normally, internal wiring must be replaced after a lap of 50-60 years to avoid any electrical hazard.
The external electrical safety forms an integral part of the overall safety scenario of your house. In case of lighting storm and rain, try not to use the electrical appliances such as toasters, hairdryers, radios etc. In addition, protection devices such as fire extinguishers (2-1/2 pounds), fire and smoke detectors, GFCI protectors, surge protectors etc, must always acquire a prominent place in your house.
