While going through the motion, get the apprehension of a skilled electrician to work on the internal wiring as well. The task may be carried out along with the overall redressing of the house whenever it happens. Normally, internal wiring must be replaced after a lap of 50-60 years to avoid any electrical hazard.
The external electrical safety forms an integral part of the overall safety scenario of your house. In case of lighting storm and rain, try not to use the electrical appliances such as toasters, hairdryers, radios etc. In addition, protection devices such as fire extinguishers (2-1/2 pounds), fire and smoke detectors, GFCI protectors, surge protectors etc, must always acquire a prominent place in your house.
